Description:

POSITION OVERVIEW

The CC&SRM Team owns the supplier relationship and commercial contract management of the large suppliers and more complex contracts. The team covers the top 300+ suppliers to Deutsche Bank with a total spend coverage of €5.5Bn. The team collaborates across the Bank to develop holistic supplier strategies, drive innovation, maximise value opportunities, improve performance and risk management. The CC&SRM team also manages all commercial aspect of contracts to protect value by minimising risk of commercial loss, through negating commercial disputes.
This role is within the Cloud, Innovation and Corporate Security (CSO) Category Team and will have a focus on supporting Corporate Security businesses across the Bank and DB’s Cloud strategic objectives; providing both Contract and Commercial Management and Category Management practice expertise.
Key Responsibilities

The Commercial Contract Management (CCM) Specialist is accountable for the commercial contract management of non-strategic suppliers. Key responsibilities include:

  • Autonomously managing and reviewing contracts for the non-strategic suppliers (those not in the formal SRM program) assigned to them - managing commercial initiatives and resolving disputes and change requests together with the bank’s Legal function. Ensuring that all contracts are compliant with regulatory, audit and policy requirements. Typical relationship sizes would be in the €5-€15m/annum range, with several suppliers typically in-scope.
  • Ensuring delivery is aligned with the agreed commercial terms, business demand and the relevant category strategy. Will provide continuous management (i.e. updating, consolidating and standardising) for all contractual agreements with the assigned supplier. Negotiating contracts and effectively drafting the associated terms and conditions.
  • Working with stakeholders to adhere to the frameworks, policies and procedures to minimize risks, promote sustainable outcomes, reduce costs and protect the value of the contract. Ability to use appropriate risk management processes to deliver and maintain a robust supply chain through the organisation’s suppliers.
  • Proactively leads the development of a comprehensive supplier centric risk analysis, ensuring contract key schedules are an effective part of the risk management strategy with the supplier.
  • Interfaces with the category management teams and CCM teams where applicable, engages with service owners to address contract usage issues where necessary.
  • Supports more senior team members with negotiations for strategic vendors as appropriate.
  • Supports more senior team members with co-ordination of team-wide tasks such as annual attestations. monitoring commercial changes and building databases to track.
  • Helping the vendor governance team with audits, providing guidance and evidence from the contract.
  • Tracking actions for suppliers or internal DB, Managing and resolving disputes and processing change requests.
  • Conduct market engagement processes (RFQs, RFPs etc.).
  • Lead and own commercial negotiations.
  • Support Category Management strategy development and execution.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in Financial Services preferable but not essential. An in-depth understanding of management/service delivery from third parties and experience of non-strategic supplier management relationships with organisations.
  • Strong experience in running RFx processes, negotiating deals and contracts
  • Strong team player with good interpersonal skills and have the ability to work in a virtual, global team in a matrix organisation.
  • Have an excellent understanding of contractual structures, legal terms & conditions and commercial risk management - optimising the contract and supplier portfolio to achieve cost savings, reduce complexity and minimise contractual risk. Must have excellent negotiation skills.
  • Experience with public cloud services and cyber security services and supplier eco-systems would be preferable but not essential.
  • A strong execution focus with good attention to detail overcoming challenges to deliver results that meets the bank’s changing needs.
  • Must have or working towards professional certification (IACCM - Association for Contract Management, MCIPs or similar) and good knowledge of contract law (UK, Germany, USA and/or international).
