Description:

Hunkemoller is seeking a Commercial Finance Manager to support our Buying and Merchandise team. This role involves providing crucial analysis and insights on stock, sales, and margins to drive strategic decision-making and optimize financial performance.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years of relevant working experience in a preferably international & fast moving company;
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Business University or comparable field;
  • Senior attitude when it comes to structure priorities, deadlines and targets within the team;
  • Results oriented and highly analytical;
  • Ability to process & analyse data from different data streams;
  • Retail experience is highly preferred;
  • Excellent and professional internal and external communication skills;
  • Excellent English language skills (verbal and written), Dutch is a plus;
  • Knowledge of MS Office;
  • Knowledge of consolidation tools (Onestream) is a plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Financial Analysis:
  • Conduct in-depth financial analysis on stock levels, sales performance, and margins.
  • Evaluate historical sales data to forecast future trends and identify potential risks and opportunities.
  • Analyze product profitability and performance across different categories, channels, and regions.
  • Financial Modeling and Reporting:
  • Develop and maintain financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning processes.
  • Prepare comprehensive financial reports, including variance analysis, to provide insights into business performance.
  • Present financial findings and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
  • Collaboration and Support:
  • Work closely with the Buying and Merchandise team to provide data-driven recommendations for assortment planning, product selection, and inventory management.
  • Support pricing strategies and promotional planning to maximize profitability while maintaining competitive positioning.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Operations, and Supply Chain, to align financial objectives with overall business goals.
  • Inventory Management:
  • Monitor inventory levels and turnover rates to ensure optimal stock levels and reduce excess inventory.
  • Conduct analysis on slow-moving and obsolete inventory and recommend actions to mitigate financial impact.
  • Support initiatives to improve stock accuracy and reduce inventory-related costs.
  • Margin and Cost Analysis:
  • Analyze gross margins and cost structures to identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
  • Evaluate the financial impact of supplier negotiations, including payment terms and discounts.
  • Monitor and report on key cost drivers, such as raw material prices, labor costs, and logistics expenses.
  • Performance Monitoring:
  • Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of merchandising strategies and financial performance.
  • Identify trends and provide actionable insights to improve sales, margins, and overall profitability.
  • Support ad-hoc analysis and special projects as required by senior management.
