Your team:
The Finance team monitors the company’s financial performance to enable long-term investments, support sales in target markets, and provide economic information to ensure the company’s sustainability. It provides economic support to the sales and marketing teams, with the aim of achieving the company’s strategic ambitions. The Finance Department is a team based in Québec and the United States and collaborates with colleagues around the world. The many sub-specialties within the team allow everyone to explore and learn continuously.
Your role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for guaranteeing the achievement of the business unit’s economic objectives by supporting the business unit’s teams in their economic steering through historical performance analyses, forecast modeling and clear proposals linking performance levers to the business line’s strategic objectives.
The incumbent will also be responsible for ensuring the reliability and understanding of the Business Line’s financial results by providing the sales teams with expertise in the Michelin Group’s financial processes, and by making effective use of the network of various contributors to accounting in the regions, the Business Line and the Organizational Departments (OD).

We need you for:

  • Propose actions for business line and regional teams to optimize results and identify risks and opportunities and recommend concrete measures.
  • Monitor trends in critical costs (raw materials, manufacturing, logistics) to provide analysis in support of pricing and sales strategies and improve economic performance.
  • Lead the business line’s financial forecasting process for gross margins.
  • Support alignment of Business Line annual strategic planning with operational financial strategies.
  • Provide financial analysis to improve alignment between regions and business line, including the development of financial models to assess the impact of proposed business actions.
  • Manage the monitoring and control of customer accounts in collaboration with the business line sales and credit teams.

What do you need to possess for being successful?

  • You have a master’s degree in finance or accounting (MBA) or you have a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation and 10 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • You are comfortable working in a bilingual environment (French and English) and are able to communicate both orally and in writing with your colleagues and our international partners.
  • You have demonstrated the ability to highlight performance levers for a management team, proposing actions to optimize results and identify the risks and opportunities necessary to the steering process of an entity.
  • You can monitor sales and cost trends to provide forecasting analyses supporting pricing and commercial strategies, and to support decision-making in support of achieving economic performance.
  • You have previously led the business line financial forecasting process for gross margins.
  • You are a collaborative person in a multi-functional environment, with critical, analytical, influential thinking and business acumen.
