Description:
BACKGROUND, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Ideally 5+ years’ experience from working at a PE-backed business or investment bank or commercial FP&A
- Excellent financial modelling and data manipulation skills
- Strong business partnering experience including the ability to interact, communicate and influence at all levels of the organisation
- Strong quantitative, analytical and problem-solving skills; must be comfortable with data analysis and able to use data to influence business decisions
- Possess commercial acumen with the ability to challenge financial assumptions
- Attention to detail
- Ability to develop and facilitate concise and effective senior level presentations
- Enjoys working in a fast-paced environment
- CIMA/ACCA/ICAEW nice to have
Responsibilities:
THE ROLE:
Backed by Inflexion, a leading mid-market PE fund, CNX is growing exponentially through a combination of acquisition and organic growth strategies. Working within a small, friendly Finance Team with a high level of cross-functional exposure, notably to the Commercial Team, the Commercial Finance Analyst will play a key role in driving informed decision-making and shaping corporate strategy through financial planning and performance analysis thereby directly contributing to the growth trajectory of the organisation.
The candidate will gain a breadth of experience from working within a small, dynamic company and from helping to develop an efficient finance function which supports corporate objectives.
The role presents an exciting opportunity for a driven candidate who will enjoy working within PE-backed business that is constantly evolving and adapting to new challenges.
KEY ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Commercial Finance Analyst will focus on three core objectives and include the following deliverables:
Finance business partner to the Commercial Team: reviewing sales, helping to understand the wider market landscape, performing pricing analysis, helping to define sales projections for existing and newly acquired products, supporting organic growth opportunities
Assisting with the Group FP&A process: owning the P&L output and working across all Functions to forecast sales, cost of sales and overheads, performing monthly variance analysis on financial results, drafting associated Board presentations, performing scenario analysis
Improving Finance processes notably the implementation of a new FP&A system and use of Power BI, together with other ad-hoc tasks
