Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE
This position is responsible for management accounting; reporting and decision support for customers within the UK Grocery business segment and includes business partnering the Sales team. You may also be required to assist the Commercial Finance Manager with Ad-hoc requests for the commercial teams.
- Working closely with Channel Controllers, Senior National Account Managers and National Account Managers, providing the financial input required to help them drive the business short and long term objectives using internal and external data.
- Producing and reviewing monthly analysis and commentary on specific customers’ performance.
- Reviewing and financially challenging the annual Joint Business Planning submissions with the sales teams for customers of responsibility.
- Leading regular P&L reviews with Commercial team members, ensuring they have full understanding of their financials.
- Lead monthly channel team meetings from a finance perspective
- Providing ad-hoc decision support to the sales teams, analysing trading agreements and sales proposals with regards to profit and cash impacts.
- Co-ordinating and delivering budgets and forecasts for customers within the UK Grocery Segment
- Developing “What if” scenarios and risk analysis to evaluate opportunities; evaluate alternative price/promotion scenarios to support commercial presentations to customers.
- Assist in the Commercial Checkpoint cycle to improve / drive business performance
- Co-ordinate and monitor risks and opportunities to customers’ performance.
- Act as a link to the business & other departments e.g. Demand Planning, Operations Finance for Decision Support.
- Assist with periodic internal and external performance reporting (flash, monthly results, brands pack)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Act as Business Partner across UK Grocery Channel accounts and manage relationships with key stakeholders
- Assist with periodic internal and external performance reporting (flash, monthly results, brands pack)
- Producing a Monthly Forecast and variance analysis to budget
- Manage monthly P&L numbers, analysis and commentary for specific customers carrying out all month end relating finance tasks.
- Continually improve processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
- Manage, carry out or participate in other projects as required.
- Respond to ad-hoc requests for information from across the company as appropriate.
- Liaise with Pricing and Promotions Team for improved promotional analysis and challenge Sales Leads on the effectiveness of promotional support
- Act as a role model to all apprentices
