KEY SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Educational Background: Currently enrolled in a university or college program in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or related fields.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.). Familiarity with financial modeling and data visualization tools is an asset.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present financial data in a clear and concise manner.
- Team Player: Ability to work effectively within a team and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Passion for CPG Industry: Interest in the food and beverage sector, with a desire to understand the financial dynamics of sales and trade promotions.
Responsibilities:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Financial Analysis & Reporting:
- Assist in preparing monthly sales and profitability reports.
- Analyze trade spending, customer profitability, and promotion effectiveness.
- Support variance analysis of sales, margins, and operating expenses.
- Forecasting & Budgeting:
- Participate in sales forecasting processes, including inputting data into financial models and reconciling forecasts with actual results.
- Assist in preparing budgets for trade spend and promotions.
- Trade Spend Management:
- Collaborate with the sales team to track and reconcile trade spend accruals.
- Analyze trade promotion performance and provide insights to optimize promotional investments.
- Data Management:
- Gather and organize large datasets from various sources to support financial analysis.
- Ensure accuracy and consistency of financial data in systems.
- Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with sales, marketing, and operations teams to gather relevant business insights.
- Participate in cross-functional projects to drive business improvements and cost efficiencies.
- Ad Hoc Support:
- Assist in special projects and initiatives as required by the Sales Finance team, such as process improvements and systems implementation.
