KEY SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Educational Background: Currently enrolled in a university or college program in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or related fields.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.). Familiarity with financial modeling and data visualization tools is an asset.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present financial data in a clear and concise manner.
  • Team Player: Ability to work effectively within a team and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for CPG Industry: Interest in the food and beverage sector, with a desire to understand the financial dynamics of sales and trade promotions.

Responsibilities:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Financial Analysis & Reporting:
  • Assist in preparing monthly sales and profitability reports.
  • Analyze trade spending, customer profitability, and promotion effectiveness.
  • Support variance analysis of sales, margins, and operating expenses.
  • Forecasting & Budgeting:
  • Participate in sales forecasting processes, including inputting data into financial models and reconciling forecasts with actual results.
  • Assist in preparing budgets for trade spend and promotions.
  • Trade Spend Management:
  • Collaborate with the sales team to track and reconcile trade spend accruals.
  • Analyze trade promotion performance and provide insights to optimize promotional investments.
  • Data Management:
  • Gather and organize large datasets from various sources to support financial analysis.
  • Ensure accuracy and consistency of financial data in systems.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration:
  • Work closely with sales, marketing, and operations teams to gather relevant business insights.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects to drive business improvements and cost efficiencies.
  • Ad Hoc Support:
  • Assist in special projects and initiatives as required by the Sales Finance team, such as process improvements and systems implementation.
