The Firm is headquartered in Golden Valley, Minnesota with offices in Arizona, California, Iowa, Nebraska, Nevada, Utah, Wisconsin and Wyoming. JOB SUMMARY as a Commercial Legal Assistant you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks including, but not limited to:
- Complete complex legal tasks, in addition to legal support staff functions in all states in which the Firm operates.
- Assist in preparing files; review, draft, file, and serve legal documents, pleadings, and correspondence.
- Follow, create, and maintain standard operating procedures.
- Demonstrates the Firm’s core values in interactions with co-workers, attorneys, clients, the courts, and consumers.
- Scanning, photocopying, collating, and faxing.
- Legal data entry.
- Handle client inquiries.
- Ability to multitask.
- High level of attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Ability to juggle multiple projects at once, ability to prioritize deadlines and commitments.
- Ability to communicate in an effective manner.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Self-Starter and motivated.
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite: Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to extract information from the firm’s software to create reports or summaries for managing attorneys and or the Director of the Department
- 50+ WPM typing skills
- Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods of time
- Ability to bend, lift, or carry up to 20 pounds
- All other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Legal field certificate/2-year degree (experience may be substituted for education)
- Background in civil litigation required, background in Creditors Rights Laws preferred
TRAVEL – This position requires up to 0-5% travel. Travel excludes local commute.
