COMMERCIAL LITIGATION CAREER PARALEGAL

We are looking for a highly skilled career paralegal to join our Commercial Litigation team.

This is a career paralegal role that and would suit someone with extensive experience within a similar commercial litigation role or experience in handling high volume claims.
This is a fully remote role, but you will be required to spend time at our Birmingham office to support with case preparation when needed.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • We are looking for a career paralegal with demonstratable experience within commercial litigation or handling volume claims of a similar nature (akin to debt recovery or equal pay claims for example). The important element is exposure to court work and the CPR rules.
  • Proficiency in document management, and case management software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work effectively and remotely in a fast-paced environment.
  • Organizational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities:

You will play a crucial role in supporting our commercial litigation team in handling multiple claims. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting with document management, including reviewing, organising, and producing electronic and hard copy documents.
  • Preparing and filing court documents and other legal papers, such as letters of claim and Statements of Case.
  • Coordinating with clients, counsel, opposing solicitors and courts to schedule meetings and hearings.
  • Assisting in trial preparation, including witness interviews, exhibits, and trial binders.
  • Managing case files, ensuring all documents and information are up to date and easily accessible.
  • Keeping track of deadlines and court appearances to ensure compliance with case timelines.
  • Assisting solicitors in drafting legal documents and correspondence.
  • Maintaining confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards in handling sensitive information.
  • Ensuring compliance with file management and responsibility for running cloud-based case management system.
  • Preparing case updates for clients and funders.
