Description:

TE KŌWHIRINGA | THE OPPORTUNITY

You will be joining the Transport & Infrastructure, Commercial & Risk hub as a Commercial Manager . As a key member of the project leadership team, you will implement and facilitate business improvement initiatives for the Tauriko West Enabling Works project. Ultimately you will maximize sustained project profitability for Downer’s largest and most profitable division.

Key responsibilities;

  • Providing commercial, contractual and risk management expertise, to improve project performance
  • Developing and embed commercial awareness and acumen within the project team through effective management including training, workshops, and mentoring
  • Ensuring sound financial and best business practices are applied to all project operations, consistent with the Downer Standard
  • Promoting consistency and accuracy with regards to forecasting, cash flow and predictability of project outcomes

NGA PŪKENGA MATUA | IMPORTANT SKILLS

With substantial experience in the civil construction or infrastructure sector, operating as a Project Commercial Management you will have the foundation to tackle this opportunity. The ability to build strong relationships where you can influence and communicate effectively will enable you to thrive from the get-go.

Key experience that we would value:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification - BSc, RICS, NZCQS or equivalent
  • Proven business development experience in a commercial environment
  • Experience providing management support in the civil construction or infrastructure sectors
  • Good understanding of NZS3910 or similar as well as NEC4
  • Experience in the use of Target Outturn Cost commercial frameworkExperience in the preparation and submission of complex Variations and Extension of Time Claims
