Description:

Your Responsibilities:
As the Commercial Manager you will be responsible for driving business development, sales strategy, and revenue growth for GES Logistics’ freight forwarding and logistics services across the UAE. This role requires an experienced sales professional with a deep understanding of the freight forwarding sector, as well as the dynamics of the UAE logistics market.

Scope 1: Business Development & Strategy

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive commercial strategy to achieve revenue targets and expand GES Logistics’ market share within the UAE.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, strategic partnerships, and clients within key industries such as retail, manufacturing, oil and gas, automotive, and more.
  • Lead and manage tender processes, commercial negotiations, and contract management for large-scale logistics and freight forwarding projects.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and innovations within the freight forwarding and logistics sectors, particularly in the UAE and GCC region.
  • Represent GES Logistics at industry events, conferences, and trade shows, fostering valuable relationships with industry professionals and partners.

Scope 2: Sales & Accounts Development

  • Oversee the existing sales team, providing guidance and support to drive customer acquisition and retention in line with business objectives.
  • Grow the sales team by attracting qualified candidates with moveable portfolios to boost the operating profit by at least 40%
  • Work hand in hand with pricing and country manager to develop competitive customized logistics solutions covering pricing and payment facilities to meet client requirements.
  • Monitor market trends, customer feedback, and competitor activities to ensure that GES Logistics remains competitive in the market.
  • Prepare and deliver impactful sales presentations to potential clients, showcasing GES Logistics’ unique value proposition.

Scope 3: Performance Analytics and Reporting

  • Support in creating client SOPs while following closely with operations and customer service teams on success execution.
  • Prepare and manage the UAE commercial budget, ensuring efficient use of the working capital and alignment with overall business goals.
  • Provide regular reports on commercial performance, sales forecasts, and market analysis to senior management.
  • Monitor key financial metrics and KPIs to evaluate the profitability and effectiveness of commercial activities.

The successful applicant to be considered for this position must meet the following:

  • BA in Logistics, Supply chain, Business management, or a relevant field; MBA is a plus
  • 10+ years of experience in senior commercial roles within freight forwarding in the UAE
  • In-depth knowledge of the UAE logistics and transportation landscape, including trade regulations, customs requirements, and market trends.
  • Demonstrable strategic thinking abilities, Solid analytical, critical thinking, detail-orientation, and communication skills
  • Excellent command of English is required
