Description:

JOB DESCIPTION

The Commercial Manager will be responsible for identifying and exploring new market opportunities, negotiating with service providers, and improving existing marketing and business practices. This role involves leading the development of commercial strategies, driving business growth, and ensuring high service levels in a start-up environment providing end-to-end supply chain services.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Tertiary qualification in Business Administration and/or Logistics Management.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven track record in business development/commercial roles, with at least 5 years at a senior management level.
  • Experience in a 3PL logistics environment.
  • Market segmentation and client clustering.
  • Demographic segmentation and media product distribution.
  • Warehousing processes and systems.
  • Proficiency in relevant software applications.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement commercial, sales, and marketing strategies aligned with business growth objectives.
  • Oversee the creation of innovative business solutions to meet financial targets.
  • Generate marketing strategies and business plans for new growth initiatives.
  • Devise pricing methodologies through economic and business analysis.
  • Conduct industry research to identify market opportunities and competitive pricing.
  • Formulate business cases for new customer acquisitions and revenue streams.
  • Participate in high-level sales processes to drive sales growth.
  • Maintain effective communication with stakeholders across the supply chain.
  • Measure and manage client service levels to ensure world-class standards.
  • Formulate and implement marketing plans and budgets.
  • Continuously review and improve operational processes for increased profitability and service levels.
  • Manage key accounts and ensure compliance during customer interactions.
  • Design and implement systems for effective sales intelligence and data reporting.
  • Review sales performance and manage contractual negotiations.
  • Analyze risk and reward structures associated with contracts.
  • Build and manage cross-functional relationships within the commercial department.
  • Motivate and develop a team to achieve targets.
  • Manage the commercial budget and stay updated on industry trends.
