The Commercial Manager—Sales Performance and Planning is responsible for supporting the profitability and performance of Sales and Distribution portfolios. This includes optimizing portfolios, handling client finance and underwriting requests, and collaborating with stakeholders. The role involves developing strategic sales plans, analysing performance data, ensuring effective operations, and fostering a planning-focused culture. Additionally, the Commercial Manager works with the strategic delivery team to align technological initiatives with business goals.

You’ll identify and capitalize on sales, distribution, product, and new business opportunities to drive growth for Cover-More Australia.
You’ll develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies aligned with company objectives in the travel insurance sector.
You’ll work closely with the Australian Leadership team, Account Directors, and Digital Managers to deliver strategic growth and commercial initiatives.
You’ll collaborate with senior management to set sales targets, establish key performance indicators (KPIs), and drive performance improvements.
You’ll conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify growth opportunities and inform strategic decisions.
You’ll prepare, review, and analyse sales reports, P&Ls, and forecasts to assess performance and support commercial decision-making.
You’ll streamline sales operations, identifying areas for improvement and implementing best practices to enhance efficiency and customer experiences.
You’ll leverage technology solutions to support and enhance sales and commercial activities.
You’ll collaborate with the Strategic Delivery team to prioritize and align commercial initiatives with business objectives.
You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams, including digital, marketing, product development, and operations, to ensure a cohesive approach to sales and distribution.

You’ll have a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Actuarial Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
You’ll have proven experience in sales planning, operations, performance analysis, and portfolio management in the financial services sector, with a preference for insurance experience.
You’ll have strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with a history of developing and executing successful growth plans.
You’ll have excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams.
You’ll have experience collaborating with IT teams and proven ability to prioritize and manage technological initiatives effectively.
You’ll have strong operational management skills, including the ability to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
You’ll have the ability to build effective relationships to achieve outcomes and foster team development.
You’ll have strong commercial acumen, with the ability to analyze information to identify risks and opportunities and make informed decisions.
You’ll have proven experience in stakeholder management and the ability to influence others effectively.
You’ll have strong leadership and team management skills to drive performance and foster a positive team environment.
