Hours: Full Time 37 hours per week
Location of post: Hybrid Working (Home/At various council venues)
This is an exciting time to work within the newly established Leisure, Tourism, Heritage and Culture department within Neath Port Talbot Council.
As a result of the recent approval of the new Neath Port Talbot Culture Strategy, Destination Management Plan and Heritage Strategy there is a renewed focus on investing in heritage, culture and tourism alongside our partners and stakeholders in the area.
We are currently looking for a Commercial Marketing Officer to join our team.
The Commercial Marketing Officer will be responsible for working as part of a new Commercial Marketing Team to develop and execute marketing strategies that drive sales and enhance market presence of NPT Council venues.
This role involves coordinating marketing campaigns, analysing market trends, managing social media accounts, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve commercial objectives.
This successful candidate should have a marketing related degree and experience of working in a marketing field.
YOU WILL HAVE EXPERIENCE IN/OF;
- Relevant experience in commercial marketing or related roles.
- Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing campaigns.
- Experience of managing marketing programmes and campaigns across the leisure portfolio in a local government setting
- Experience of dealing with the media and generating positive press releases

Responsibilities:
Actively ‘account manage’ the marketing needs of the various site and facilities across the Leisure, Tourism and Culture portfolio.
- Assist in planning, developing, and executing marketing campaigns across various channels including digital, print, and social media.
- Monitor and report on the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and suggest improvements.
- Collaborate with the facility managers to develop engaging marketing materials such as brochures, newsletters, emails, and social media posts.
- Ensure all content aligns with brand guidelines and objectives.
- Conduct market research to identify trends, customer preferences, and competitive landscape.
- Analyse data to inform marketing strategies and identify growth opportunities.
- Manage and grow the social media presence by creating and scheduling posts, engaging with followers, and monitoring social media performance.
- Respond to customer inquiries and feedback on social media platforms.
- Assist in the planning and execution of marketing events such as trade shows, product launches, and promotional events.
- Coordinate logistics, promotional materials, and post-event follow-up.
- Work closely with facility managers to ensure cohesive marketing strategies and met their marketing need.
- Liaise with external vendors and agencies as needed
- Maintain marketing calendars, budgets, and databases.
