Job Description
SGS is seeking a Commercial Operations Manager to join our Industries team in Brisbane. In this role, you will be responsible to provide commercial support and advice to the Industrial businesses and sales teams, ensuring that commercial contracts, tenders, and bids deliver a robust margin return and/or return on investment; optimising commercial operations and identifying opportunities to enhance and expand the business.

Your key responsibilities in this role will include but are not limited to:

  • Provide financial perspective guidance to business managers.
  • Identify activities or procedures contributing to suboptimal financial performance and support necessary changes for improvement in collaboration with business management.
  • Support major capex proposals and spending budget.
  • Track financial information for the businesses, providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Monitor costs incurred in the businesses.
  • Assist with external supplier requirements agreement i.e., leases, subcontractors etc. as needed.
  • Assist with analysis and costings to support negotiation outcomes with clients and suppliers.
  • Provide analysis and recommendation to drive growth through contract acquisition and existing client relationships.
  • Analyse and provide insights on CRM sales activity and progress toward revenue targets.
  • Handle commercial enquiries, projects, bids, and additional specifications as requested.
  • Assist, backup, advise or support any activity/duty as needed to achieve company objectives/deadlines within the job description constraints.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in a financial accounting or Financial management role.
  • Multi-business activity experience.
  • Management training and experience.
  • Knowledge of Australian company legislation.
