Position Summary
The Commercial Planner is a key role within the newly established Commercial Centre of Excellence and is critical in supporting the delivery of Corby’s performance ambitions.
Established as the subject matter expert for the ongoing management of the demand forecast, this role will translate national and regional building blocks into market-level demand forecasting and horizon planning. The Demand Planner is heavily involved in championing data-driven and performance management processes and systems to determine and socialize the market’s true demand.
Highly motivated, a strong communicator with a bias for analysis and action, the ideal candidate will enjoy working and excel in a collaborative, results driven environment.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Through the use of historical data, market and category trends and promotion performance accountable for the development of the 21-month rolling demand forecast by region by sku.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders in Sales, Marketing and Supply Chain to incorporate additional insights and seek consensus to the demand forecast.
  • Responsible for the regional contribution to the S&OP process by providing on-going demand forecast insights and overall demand projections.
  • Accountable for analyzing, understanding and course correcting the demand variability (Actual Performance vs Forecast) against established KPIs, including (but not limited to) Forecast Accuracy and Bias.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing and Supply Chain to ensure the development, alignment and integration of new products into the demand forecast.
  • In collaboration with Regional Sales, accountable for managing the listing base (listing and delisting) of skus within markets.
  • Employs advanced demand forecasting tools and statistical analysis and techniques to deliver ongoing improvements to the demand forecast.
  • Establishes strong working relationships with key stakeholders in Regional Sales, Marketing, S&OP and Supply Chain to facilitate effective communication and collaboration in the demand planning process.
  • Identifies areas for process improvement in demand planning and proposes enhancements, both processes and tools, to continually evolve demand planning performance.
  • Establishes a good understanding of market dynamics, channels, customers and regulatory nuances and ensures these are reflected in the demand plan.
  • Shares demand planning best practices with other relevant stakeholders in Regional Sales, S&OP and Supply Chain.
  • Comfortable working with large data sets and possess an above average/advanced understanding of excel and statistical analysis.

Education & Experience

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience in analysis and strategic insights.
  • Strong experience with data storytelling.
  • Strong technical knowledge in MS suite – particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Previous working experience with Power BI and TPM system an asset.
  • Proven strategic thinking skills - ability to understand market performance, translate insights into opportunities, and develop clear recommendations.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to influence.
  • Consumer Packaged Goods experience an asset.
  • Financial Analyst experience an asset.
  • AC Nielsen experience an asset.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Team player with high energy and demonstrated initiative.
  • An understanding of the Wine and spirits industry an asset.
