We are expanding our hedging, pricing and trading team to allow us to support an expansion into the commercial energy supply sector through our new Yuno Energy brand. As part of this expansion, we are looking for an energy pricing and hedging analyst to join our team of energy and commodity market experts.
The team fosters a strong spirit of collaboration, continuous development, and excellence. Our work is heavily data based; therefore, you should have a third level degree in a quantitative subject such as engineering, mathematics, finance / economics, or the sciences. Work experience in the industry is desired for the role with any gas and electricity pricing or trading experience being highly advantageous. Though if you feel you have transferrable experience and skills and you are very keen to immerse yourself in the role even the lack of industry experience can be overcome.
You should have a general interest in electricity and gas markets, and a desire to know and understand more about how our customers consume energy and how wholesale and retail energy markets will develop in the future. You will take responsibility for designing electricity, gas and heat tariffs for our commercial customer base and will also take the lead in implementing, tracking and trading hedge strategies, along with providing best in class analysis of the markets we operate in. As we are a data driven company, Ideally, you should have an understanding, or the ability to gain an understanding of tools used to store, query and process databases. Additionally, you will be involved in supporting customers in their transition to renewable energy.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

We recognise that you may not have all of these skills but we are looking for someone who exhibit some of them and are driven to learn the rest.

• Previous experience in the energy industry within supply, generation, regulation or analytical role is highly desirable but not essential if relevant skills and experience are transferable .
• Be resourceful and proactive. We are looking for a self-starter who enjoys having accountability and ownership while being part of a collaborative team
• Strong problem solving, analysis and attention to detail
• High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a necessity along with the ability to understand and develop complex excel based tools
• Strong data handling & programming skills are highly desirable with some experience in tools such as or similar to: Python, SQL and Tableau.
• Comfortable working with large amounts of data
• Clear, concise and structured communication skills
• Ability to follow, map and improve processes
• Adaptable, flexible, able to change priorities
