WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
We are looking for an experienced Real Estate Paralegal to join our firms Vancouver location. This position is working in Commercial Real Estate. As one of the first Paralegals joining our established firm’s newly opened Vancouver location, you will be working closely and collaboratively with our seasoned Real Estate Team.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Real Estate Paralegal/Law Clerk
- Strong knowledge of the real estate transaction process for commercial matters
- Successful completion of a related post-secondary education program in a legal assistant or law clerk program
- Membership in good standing with the BCPA
- Proficiency with myLTSA is required
- Flexibility to work overtime when needed
- Strong knowledge of title matters

Responsibilities:
- Carriage of commercial real estate files from beginning to end
- Preparation of all related documents for purchase and sale transactions, mortgage transactions, routine loan transactions and refinancing (on behalf of borrowers from both private and institutional lenders)
- Standard document production in relation to larger property acquisitions, dispositions and financings
- Review title searches and prepare title memorandum, prepare off-title search letters, oversee off-title searches and draft requisition letters and responses
- Deal directly with clients, financial institutions, municipalities, land registry offices and title insurance companies
- Review and negotiate title insurance policies
- Prepare record books promptly following completion of files
- Produce the highest quality of work
