Description:

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, or related fields).
  • Interest or experience in technical sales and the ability to build strong client relationships.
  • Basic understanding of instrumentation and control systems; experience with water treatment systems is a plus.
  • Familiarity with tendering processes, contract documentation, and bidding strategies is preferred.
  • Ability to analyse customer challenges and propose suitable technical solutions.
  • Up to 2 years’ experience in a sales, tendering, or technical role; experience in the water or instrumentation industry is advantageous. Strong inter-personal and communication skills
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft products e.g. Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint. Salesforce experience would be an advantage.
  • Demonstrate a professional and positive approach to work, good communication and team building skills.
  • Full, clean driving licence.
  • Business attire required on all workdays.

Responsibilities:

ROLE SUMMARY

The Commercial Sales Engineer is a driven and results-oriented role that will be responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities, managing key accounts, and achieving sales targets. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support and grow sales activities for cutting-edge instrumentation & telemetry solutions within the water sector. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with excellent communication and problem-solving skills to deliver value to customers. The candidate will report to the Head of Market Development and be based in our Leixlip office. This position is a full time, permanent role, and is subject to a 6-month probationary period.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Customer Engagement: Assist in identifying and engaging prospective clients in the water and wastewater treatment industry, building and maintaining strong relationships.
  • Technical Sales Support: Collaborate with senior sales engineers/managers to provide technical recommendations and solutions tailored to customer needs.
  • Product Knowledge: Develop a deep understanding of the company’s instrumentation products, including flow meters, level sensors, water quality analysers, and other related equipment.
  • Quotations and Proposals: Prepare and follow up on quotes and proposals for customers, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project requirements.
  • Field Visits: Conduct on-site visits to assess client requirements and assist in equipment demonstrations, installations, or troubleshooting.
  • Tendering and Bid Preparation: Prepare and submit technical and commercial proposals in collaboration with internal teams. Ensure compliance with tender deadlines and follow up on bid status.
  • Market Research: Stay informed on market trends, competitor products, and emerging technologies in the water sector.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the sales and engineering teams to ensure seamless project execution and post-sales support.
  • Reporting: Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and pipeline updates in CRM systems.
