Your Role:
Reporting to the Commercial Technical Operations Manager of Security Systems West & Central, the Commercial Security Systems Technician is responsible for the end-to-end process of installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting advanced commercial security systems. Technicians ensure that security infrastructure meets the clients’ specifications and adheres to GardaWorld’s quality standards.

Commercial Technician Responsibilities:
- Initial Site Assessments: Conduct site surveys to determine the most effective installation approach, ensuring all client requirements are met.
- System Installation: Implement security systems, video surveillance and access control according to design schematics and plans. This includes wiring, equipment setup, and software configuration.
- Maintenance and Upgrades: Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance, software updates, and hardware updates.
- Participating in annual ULC inspections for both fire monitoring and burglary systems.
- Troubleshooting and Repairs: Diagnose and resolve hardware or software issues both remotely and on-site, minimizing downtime.
- Quality Assurance: Test the functionality of installed systems to ensure they meet both internal external quality and safety standards.
- Customer Interaction: Build strong relationships through excellent customer service, educating customers on system operation and basic troubleshooting.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain meticulous records of installation procedures, system configurations, and maintenance activities for each client. Submit reports to the Technical Operations Manager as requested.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with sales and engineering departments to ensure client satisfaction and quality of service.
- Inventory Management: Keep track of equipment and tools, ensuring that all items are accounted for and in working condition.
- After Hours Work: After hours work is expected on occasional and rotational basis. This could be in the form of field dispatch requests or emergency on-call requirements.
- All other duties as assigned
