Research & Safety Market Division Europe is building a bridge between business and science as the industry’s definitive single source channel for a comprehensive range of laboratory equipment, chemicals, instruments, life sciences reagents, and consumable supplies. Our regional structure includes sales office and logistics centres in 18 countries across Europe that are strategically located to provide prompt, responsive delivery to our customers. (The Commercial Tender Specialist) work in a diverse, multi-cultural team to partner with clients understanding their needs and developing solutions by leveraging internal and external suppliers. Continual investment into our sales teams is a top priority and enables the successful business growth that is part of Research & Safety Market Division in Europe.
Within Academic segment, develop sales generated by the public tenders. It includes the analysis of the request, the coordination of the product selection and the pricing proposal working closely with the tender specialists and the account manager in compliance with company sales policy.

A day in the life:

  • Ensure the achievement/overachievement of the sale target set by identifying and developing sales opportunities out of public and academic tenders.
  • Build and maintain close relationships with local account managers to allow products and pricing information to be considered in the tender response and strategic information about customers to be gathered.
  • Analyze tender content collected by the tender specialists to qualify leads on high value accounts and participate to the Go/No Go decision in order to maximize win rate and revenue income.
  • Ensure coordination of relevant functions to ensure appropriate product selection (Suppliers, Technical application Specialist, X-Ref tool and team and Coding)
  • Optimize price offering with local account managers and Regional Sales Managers in compliance with the company sales strategy and market dynamics
  • Work closely with the local Tender Specialist by providing all technical and commercial elements to allow on time completion of the tender submission
  • Develop and maintain detailed customer/opportunity records in SalesForce.com
  • Analyze tenders lost and put in place a strategy with account manager and Tender Specialist to ensure the tenders to be won again in the next round.
  • Keeping a library of the technical documents used in tenders for their future reuse as needed.

The keys to success:

  • Fluent in German and English
  • Recognized qualification in Sciences with laboratory product knowledge
  • Good telephone manner & tone, with excellent listening & questioning communication skills.
  • Practical understanding of the sales process.
  • Previous tele-sales/sales experience desirable. Newly qualified Graduate.
  • Ability to travel overseas occasionally to attend meetings and training sessions.
  • Work is home-office based with ability to travel occasionally to meet customers or attend meetings and training sessions
  • Good understanding of the German and Austrian market. Open to help sales people and provide excellent support.
  • Excellent organization skills and Excel knowledge.
