Description:

We’re recruiting for an enthusiastic and willing-to-learn Commis Chef to join our kitchen team at The Fish Hotel, here in the beautiful Cotswolds.
Family owned and part of the Small Luxury Hotels collection, here at the 4 AA red star The Fish Hotel we serve stunning, sustainable Cornish seafood in a rustic woodland setting on our 500 acre Cotswolds Estate - it’s the perfect place to escape city life and breathe some fresh air into your career. Working in our 2 AA Rosette kitchen, you’ll join a hardworking and organised team. The kitchen features top-of-the-range equipment, and with ongoing investment into the department, it really is a excellent work environment. With events, working lunches, and a small plates menu for our bar and room service, every day is different and there is so much to learn!
All chefs’ career development is a core focus for us, and at Farncombe we have many opportunities for you to gain new skills and experience a wide variety of menus, restaurant styles and sizes, all featuring the very best of fresh ingredients. With Dormy House (3 AA rosette and 4 AA rosette restaurants/tasting menu) and Foxhill Manor (unique menu-less top end kitchen) also on the Estate, it’s a unique opportunity for any chef serious about their career to join and experience.
We offer a great salary of £30,950 per year, plus service charge (around £3,000-£3,500 per year), meals on duty and uniform. This is for a 48 hour per week contract, working 5 days out of 7. Live-in accommodation is also available for this role, which is at an extra cost (£256pm including bills) and 5 minutes’ walk from The Fish.
We are members of the Hoteliers Charter, and are committed to providing a workplace built on respect, fairness, equality, diversity and opportunity, and to putting wellness and career development at the heart of what we do.

We also offer a raft of excellent benefits including:

  • 30 days holiday per year (rising to 35 after 5 years)
  • A celebration birthday lunch in one of the hotels, on us!
  • A complimentary stay including dinner for you and a guest
  • Access to onsite mental health first aiders, and an employee assistance programme from Hospitality Action
  • Free access to wellbeing resources - online exercise classes, mindfulness tools and nutritious recipes
  • Hundreds of High Street discounts and a cash back card via Hospitality Rewards
  • Estate discounts on dining, stays, wine, spa products and more
  • Be rewarded with £1000 to spend how you wish in our employee recognition programme
  • Up to £1000 when you successfully refer a friend to work with us
  • Premium payments for Christmas and New Year shifts
  • An optional, low cost healthcare cash plan
  • Free, in-person financial planning advice
  • Broad ranging careers in all the usual hotel departments and a few you wouldn’t expect…like our adventure team

If this sounds like your ideal next move, and you would like to discuss this role or any other opportunities on our estate, please do get in touch! We look forward to hearing from you
