COMMISSIONING ENGINEER

Our client, a globally recognized brand, specializes in designing and manufacturing highly engineered gas processing equipment. With over 100 years of history, they have been at the forefront of pioneering heat transfer solutions for cryogenic liquefaction. Their products are essential for handling gasses and turning them into useful forms. Additionally, their distribution and storage solutions are essential for delivering across various industrial applications and energy sectors.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Commissioning Engineer to join our client’s team. This role is critical in ensuring the smooth commissioning and startup of facilities designed by our client. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience in commissioning and startup engineering, particularly in process and mechanical systems. This individual will provide essential support to ensure that projects are successfully handed over to clients, meeting all safety and operational standards.

  • Primary Objective: Your main goal in this role will be to provide process and mechanical engineering expertise during the commissioning phase, offering guidance and oversight to ensure that facilities designed by our client—such as LNG and LH2 systems—are handed over to clients smoothly and successfully.
  • Commissioning and Startup Support: Lead the commissioning and startup processes for cryogenic and gas processing equipment, ensuring all systems are functioning according to design specifications.
  • Engineering Oversight: Provide process and mechanical engineering support throughout the commissioning phase, including troubleshooting and problem-solving during startup activities.
  • Operational Manual Development: Develop detailed operating manuals based on engineering designs to guide the safe and efficient operation of facilities.
  • Design Review Participation: Engage in P&ID reviews, HAZOPs, and other critical design evaluations to ensure the integrity and safety of the systems.
  • Site Inspections: Conduct independent walk-downs of Cold Boxes, skidded equipment, and entire plants, creating punch lists and ensuring all systems meet the required standards before handover.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience: A minimum of 10 years in commissioning and startup engineering, with significant experience in the gas processing or cryogenic equipment industry.
  • Travel Requirement: Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time to various international & domestic project sites.
  • Location: Preference for candidates based in The Woodlands, TX, but other Texas locations may be considered.
