COMMISSIONING MANAGER (ACCOMMODATION)

Are you passionate and enthusiastic about making a real difference to the quality of children, young people and their families’ lives? Do you want to work in a team that commissions services for children, young people and their families? We are looking for a professional who has these interests and who has working experience of children, young people and family services, to join the team in commissioning for better outcomes.
Are you a dynamic and experienced commissioner who will provide strong and visionary leadership. Do you have significant experience of commissioning, contracting and performance in a relevant setting. We are looking for you to come and join our team.
The role includes all aspects of service commissioning, including developing and implementing strategies, plan new policies and frameworks and delivery of all the strategic activities for families, designing service specifications and monitoring the impact of delivery against outcomes and key performance indicators. The successful applicant will commission and manage a portfolio of contracts across young people and families, primarily focussed on commissioning of accommodation and support as part of the Council’s Better Homes Sufficiency Strategy; and the Supported and Specialist Housing Strategy; and contract managing strategic and critical contracts in the Council’s DPS for fostering, residential and SEND education placements.
The role holder will ensure that services are commissioned in a way that has a focus on best practice, reflective learning, derives good quality service provision and cost effectiveness.
About You (Skills, knowledge, qualifications etc)
You will have a recognised degree or relevant experience and/or hold a relevant professional qualification. Not excluding of relevant achievement aligned with a range of relevant experience. A relevant management or professional qualification. Evidence of continued professional development.
You will be able to demonstrate expert knowledge in a relevant professional area and proven track record of using professional expertise to develop and deliver strategic objectives and expected outcomes.
Experience of programme management and delivery of programmes.
