Martin Energy a CHP and engine/generator packager. Martin Energy offers a very comprehensive product range from 50kW to >5MW for the North, Central, and South American markets.
This position requires a diverse skill set and a willingness to learn and grow. Daily duties include Load test, Commissioning, troubleshooting and repair of CHP systems, as well as all related components such as paralleling gear, relays, protective devices, and controls. Needs to be analytical and possess the skills to diagnose possible malfunctions remotely. Travel to job site locations throughout North America is a must.
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Load test new Genset / CHP
- Commission Gensets on customer site
- Work with varies of engine control and PLC systems
- Identify and repair problems with electrical and mechanical systems.
- Complete tune-ups and/or the repairs identified during the diagnostic process.
- Troubleshoot & repair AC and DC controls and equipment such as engine controllers, Automatic Voltage Regulators, battery chargers, block heaters, automatic transfer switches and switchgear.
- Accurately document services performed, and actions required.
- Work in a safe manner, following company safety policies, on-site customer safety policies and regulatory policies.
Requirements:
- Basic knowledge of PLC / Logic & HMI programing
- Basic knowledge of AC systems up to 13,800 VAC understand electrical fundamentals and safe work practices
- Basic knowledge of DC systems fundamentals and work practices
- Knowledge of generators, gaseous engines, controls, and systems.
- Understand basic operation of transfer switches and switch gear.
- Ability to understand wiring diagrams, motors, transformers
- Ability to use diagnostic software to identify and repair deficiencies.
- Ability to work safely around electrical components.
- Ability to complete jobs assigned with little to no supervision.
- Excellent customer service skills, which includes both verbal and written communications.
- Ability and desire to participate in educational opportunities/training and reading technical and regulation publications.
- Basic computer skills (MS Office, emails, typing, etc.)
