Are you passionate about governance, audit, and risk management? This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to Commsave Credit Union’s mission of delivering exceptional service to our members.
As we continue to grow and enhance our services, we’re seeking a committed professional to join our Audit & Risk Sub-Committee (ARSC) as an Independent Member.
In this role, you’ll play a vital part in overseeing our risk management and governance practices, helping safeguard our values and supporting sustainable growth. Your expertise will be instrumental in guiding key decisions, ensuring we meet the highest standards for our members. If you’re passionate about audit, risk, or corporate governance, and ready to collaborate with a dedicated team while giving back to the community, this role could be an excellent f it for you.
Gain valuable experience, contribute to meaningful work, and make a real difference with us at Commsave Credit Union!
WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU?
As a volunteer (although in some circumstances we are able to cover any loss of earnings), you’ll be making a meaningful contribution to a non-profit organisation, while benefiting from opportunities for personal and professional development. You’ll work closely with the ARSC Chair, Board Members, and Senior Management, gaining insight into our credit union’s operations and influencing key decisions. Sub-committee members are also viewed favourably for potential future roles on the Board, offering a valuable pathway for those interested in contributing to the longer-term development and governance of our organisation.
- Time Commitment: We’re looking for someone who can dedicate around 30 hours per year, plus occasional events and training sessions as needed. Our Sub Committee currently meets every other month on a Tuesday afternoon for about 2–3 hours, making it a flexible commitment that can work around other priorities.
- Compensation: We value your time and commitment! Travel expenses are covered, and we’ll reimburse any costs for caring requirements - whether for children, elderly family members, or other dependents - while you attend meetings.
- Term: We ask for an initial commitment of three years, with opportunities to renew and even transfer to our Board of Directors Committee. This role allows you to grow with us and make a meaningful impact on our community.
This is an exciting time to join Commsave Credit Union, with a role that allows you to contribute to the future of the organisation while building your own expertise in governance and risk management.
