JOB SUMMARY
We are currently looking for a Committee Services Operations Manager to join our Governance Office, Committee Servies Team Function within the Enablement group.
This is a full-time opportunity, on a permanent basis. The role will be based in 10 South Colonnade, Canary Wharf London, E14 4PU. Please be aware that this role can only be worked in the UK and not overseas.
Government departments and agencies are working towards implementing a minimum 60% attendance in office sites.
We are currently implementing a flexible, hybrid way of working, with a minimum of 8 days per month working on site to enable the collaboration and contact with partners and stakeholders needed to deliver MHRA business. Attendance on site is driven by business needs so depending on the nature of the role, this can flex up to 12 days a month, with the remainder of time worked either remotely or in the office. Some roles will need to be on site more regularly.
JOB DESCRIPTION
This role will manage and oversee the operational delivery of the Committee Services Team, supporting various committees and expert advisory groups to ensure optimal performance and public health outcomes.
The postholder will lead on embedding a culture of continuous improvement, driving change, and optimising committee processes to enhance consistency and efficiency across operations while ensuring adherence to governance protocols.
Working collaboratively with a wide range of colleagues across the organisation, the role offers an exciting opportunity to tackle emerging challenges pragmatically while supporting and developing team members to achieve their potential.

- The postholder must demonstrate excellent leadership and team development skills, with experience in mentoring and fostering a high-performing, collaborative team culture.

- The ability to drive process improvements, identify efficiencies, and manage change effectively while maintaining adherence to governance protocols and regulatory requirements.
- Proven experience of working in a fast-paced, complex environment, managing multiple priorities, and delivering high-quality outputs to tight deadlines.

Responsibilities:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee the operational delivery of committee services, ensuring all activities are compliant with governance protocols, policies, and the Human Medicines Regulations. Lead the coordination of committee activities, including the appointment of new members, management of conflicts of interest, and appropriate governance for each group.
- Lead, support, and mentor team members to foster their professional growth and create a high-performing, collaborative team that embraces a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
- Drive the optimisation of committee processes by identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency, consistency, and resource management. Develop and implement policies and procedures that align with best practices and support the Agency’s strategic objectives.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including Chairs and expert committee members, to address challenges pragmatically, set priorities, and ensure committee operations contribute to achieving public health outcomes.
