JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
We are in the process of growing our Procurement team as we continue forward on our transformation journey, and we are looking for an experienced Commodity Manager to join the team. You’ll grow and forge various cross-functional relationships across the business as you support the Senior Commodity Manager in the execution of strategic category management. You will apply a best practice approach to procurement to drive down cost and support the business with long term fulfilment of material needs.
The role of Commodity Manager is a highly impactful, strategic position and the work you’ll be doing with your stakeholders is vital to ensure the success of our ambitious objectives. You will have the opportunity to contribute to continuous improvement of our procurement processes and tools and play a key role in helping to develop future supplier ramp-up strategies.
For a specific candidate with advanced experience in ERP systems, there may be additional opportunity to play a vital role in the implementation of our next generation of ERP.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- BA/BSc degree or equivalent experience, or CIPS qualification.
- You will need to have demonstrable procurement experience within a highly regulated industry such as Aerospace or Automotive.
- High level of resilience to change and ambiguity and apply a continuous learning mindset to your work.
- Superb attention to detail and the ability to analyze and convey complex data into clear and concise reports is essential for success in this role.
- You must be comfortable operating in a system driven environment and using ERP systems.
- Proven experience developing strategic relationships with your suppliers that have resulted in category growth and contract management, negotiation, and data analysis skills.
DESIRED EXPERIENCE:
- You will ideally be an expert operator of ERP systems. Past experience of Syteline and/or Oracle is preferred.
Responsibilities:
- You will be an advocate of procurement best practice and be a champion of system data integrity and operational efficiency.
- You will conduct market assessments, helping to identify potential new suppliers as well as manage new and existing supplier relationships, ensuring adherence to contractual KPIs, compliant procurement according to GE procurement practices and procedures to secure safety, quality, delivery, and cost on products/services.
- You will take ownership of the commercial negotiation and contracting process from RFI/RFQs through to contract award and order acknowledgement to ensure 100% on time order placement.
- You will partner with sourcing, fulfilment, engineering, finance, and programs.
- You will work with and analyze data and insights to identify where there are potential risks in our supply chain and take the lead in finding required solutions.
