Commodity Trader (Refined / Scrap Metals)

REQUIREMENTS:

• Diploma/Bachelor degree.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in physical commodity trading.
• In-depth knowledge of the physical commodities market, supply chain logistics, and risk management practices.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Highly motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
• MS Office
• Proficiency in Mandarin will be advantageous in dealing with China’s associates
• Be prepared to undertake business travels.

The Commodity Traders, Refined/Scrap Metals are key hires in the anticipated expansion of Awin Resource. The positions will be based in Singapore and undertake the following responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify trading opportunities and trends.
• Responsible for managing physical commodity trading.
• Execute trades and manage positions in physical commodities, ensuring optimal pricing and risk management.
• Negotiate and process term contracts for the international supply.
• Oversee the logistics and transportation of commodities from suppliers to clients, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with contractual terms.
• Establish new and build upon the Company’s existing relationships with suppliers, customers, and other stakeholders to secure favourable terms and long-term partnerships.
• Ensure all trading activities comply with relevant regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
• Perform regular risk management of the future trading book and work closely with the LME hedging desk to manage exposure effectively
• Identify proprietary paper trading opportunities across metals
