POSITION SUMMARY:

Be part of a strong team leading digital health transformation at Joseph Brant Hospital! We are looking for a creative, innovative and solutions-driven individual who can skillfully harness the power of communications to drive organisational change and employee engagement.
This position will play a critical role in the successful adoption of a new Health Information System (HIS) at the hospital, which will modernize and improve patient care services. We are looking for a seasoned communications professional with advanced skills and experience in developing, designing and implementing impactful change communications and marketing strategies.
This position is eligible for JBH’s hybrid work model, a combination of onsite and remote work.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Required:

  • Completion of post-secondary education in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of work experience in communications.
  • Strong strategic communications skills and proven experience in spearheading highly effective communications plans for both internal and external audiences to support large-scale, multi-phase, organization-wide projects with diverse audiences.
  • Proven experience in developing and leading successful marketing campaigns.
  • Strong creative and communications skills, including writing, editing, photography, video and graphics. Ability to translate complex and technical information into easy-to-understand and compelling content for internal and external audiences.
  • Skilled in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Zoom, and creative programs and applications such as Adobe Acrobat, Canva, Dropbox. Experience supporting virtual events, such as townhalls, webinars and forums.
  • Experience managing social media platforms (including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn), including monitoring, analyzing and reporting on activity as well as potential or emerging risks.
  • Experience in delivering and/or supporting virtual and in-person presentations and events to large groups.
  • Excellent interpersonal and persuasive skills; proven track record of working collaboratively with multiple teams and nurturing positive and productive relationships with stakeholders.
  • Able to exercise leadership skills and sound judgment in demanding situations, responding quickly to identify solutions, alternatives and consequences based upon the evaluation of relevant facts, issues and risks.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize, multi-task and manage competing priorities under tight timelines.
  • Knowledge of current and future communications practices, trends and technology. Proven experience in contributing ideas for change, including implementation of best practices and the development of innovative communications vehicles.
  • Demonstrated experience in building, using and interpreting key communications metrics to measure outcomes and adapt to changing needs during organizational change.
  • A positive, can-do attitude, able to navigate difficult situations and willing to pitch in and help others when needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Works in close collaboration with the HIS cross-departmental team on communications and engagement plans, activities and deliverables, providing expert guidance on change communications strategies and messaging.
  • Leads the development and implementation of innovative marketing and engagement campaigns (including messaging, creative concepts, collateral and staff events) that will generate excitement and urgency among staff and physicians to adopt the new system.
  • Develops HIS project brand and brand guide with consideration to vendor and partner branding guidelines.
  • Creates content and communications materials for digital platforms, web, social and print.
  • Fosters positive and productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including executive sponsors, to build buy-in and support for communications plans and strategies. Skilled at effectively presenting recommendations and ideas to project team and leaders.
  • Works closely and collaborates other members of the Corporate Communications team in areas where communications work may intersect or overlap with HIS, such as the implementation of an internal communications strategy, the launch of a new website and centralized content planning and scheduling.
  • Champions data-driven decision-making; establishes, monitors and interprets key metrics to identify challenges and opportunities to support the change management plan.
  • Identifies communication needs by working closely with stakeholders and attending project meetings.
  • Self-starter capable of creating and managing communications projects from inception to completion with minimal supervision. Able to work independently and within a team.
  • Integrates best practice in communications and change management in all activities.
