INTRODUCTION TO GGGI
The Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) is a treaty-based international, inter-governmental organization dedicated to supporting and promoting strong, inclusive and sustainable economic growth in developing countries and emerging economies. To learn more please visit about GGGI web page.
Over the past 11 years, GGGI has served the role of an enabler and facilitator of Colombia’s just transition into a low-carbon economy by generating green jobs, promoting nature-based tourism and forest economy, scaling-up renewable energy, fostering climate-smart agricultural production models and halting deforestation while advocating sustainable development and mobilizing climate finance.
Currently, the country program focuses on key areas such as bioeconomy, sustainable finance, rural electrification, and the creation of energy communities. These areas aim to enhance Colombia’s green growth by promoting innovative solutions that align with national development priorities, supporting the transition to cleaner energy sources, fostering inclusive economic opportunities, and driving investments that contribute to environmental sustainability and social equity.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Communication and Knowledge Sharing (COMKS) Assistant will work with the Andean Representative, the COMKS Associate and team members in supporting the implementation of creative communication initiatives to enhance the visibility of GGGI’s programs in Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru. This includes designing materials for events, publications, social media, and websites to effectively showcase GGGI’s results, impacts, and contributions to green growth in the region.
The role involves supporting producing high-quality, innovative communication outputs such as graphics, infographics, presentations, social media content, videos, and event coverage. These efforts will strengthen the recognition of GGGI and projects while ensuring alignment with GGGI’s branding, communication guidelines, and organizational standards.
This position focuses on amplifying GGGI’s message and impact in the Andean region by conveying program objectives creatively and effectively while providing solutions that reflect GGGI’s COMKS policies and guidelines.
REQUIREMENTSQUALIFICATIONS
- (Mandatory) This is a national position open only to Colombian nationals or foreigners based in Bogotá, Colombia with permission to work and live in the country.
- (Mandatory) Undergraduate degree in Communications, Journalism, or related fields.
- (Mandatory) At least 2 years of professional experience, preferably in communications roles aligned with GGGI’s mission and objectives.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and active usage of various social media platforms.
- (Mandatory) Proven experience with Adobe Creative Cloud tools (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and Premiere Pro) and strong skills in graphic design, photography, and video production, demonstrating creativity and the ability to design high-quality posts, infographics, videos, and other communication materials.
- Proficient communication, event management, media engagement, and diplomatic skills.
- Knowledge or experience in green growth, sustainable development, or regional issues is an asset.
- Exceptional attention to detail, especially in producing communication materials and adhering to rules and guidelines.
- Fluency in Spanish with good English writing and speaking skills.
Responsibilities:
Under the guidance of the Andean Representative and the COMKS Associate, the COMKS Assistant will support the implementation of GGGI’s Andean strategic communications plan by designing graphic communication products and creating engaging content. These efforts will align with the operational requirements of the Andean Country Programs (Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru) while fully adhering to GGGI policies, standards, donor requirements, and other operational and office functions.
S/he will ensure the delivery of high-quality communication outputs that effectively support the strategic plan, addressing challenges as needed to ensure smooth execution. S/he will implement GGGI’s rules, guidelines, and entitlements, providing solutions to communication-related issues while promoting a relationship-focused approach aligned with GGGI’s rules and regulations.
