JOB DESCRIPTION

In this role, the Communications Specialist will support and implement the company’s communications strategies across both internal and external channels. The ideal candidate will be responsible for crafting and delivering clear, engaging messages to various audiences, fostering positive relations with both employees and external stakeholders. The candidate will work closely with the communications team to execute campaigns, manage content, and ensure the consistent delivery of key messages in alignment with Husky’s strategic priorities, goals and brand identity both internally and externally. Based in our European headquarters in Dudelange/Luxembourg, you will be surrounded by team members from other departments, such as Marketing, while reporting directly to the Corporate Communications and Public Relations Manager, located at our global headquarters in Bolton, Canada.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree in communications, public relations or journalism, English or Business with a focus on Marketing, or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years of focused communications experience, preferably with a global organization, working with colleagues in multiple locations and across time zones
  • Proven ability to build effective relationships with a wide range of audiences
  • Strong project management skills
  • A solid understanding of best practices in internal communications and employee engagement
  • Outstanding writing and editing skills
  • Understanding of various channels of internal communication in a hybrid environment
  • Experience with leveraging digital tools and platforms to drive employee engagement
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Stream, and Teams
  • Experience, including drafting and publishing of written and audio-visual content
  • A strategic and creative thinker with strong story-telling skills
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines, while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy
  • The ability to listen to and interact confidently with others
  • Strong team player with a diplomatic, collaborative approach, and the ability to build effective relationships at all levels of the organization. Excellent organization skills; ability to effectively plan and manage work, respond to conflicting demands on an urgent and ad-hoc basis and prioritize workload appropriately
  • Proactive problem-solver who can demonstrate initiative and make decisions autonomously, while remaining alert to the need to consult and update others as appropriate
  • Positive and flexible attitude; high degree of integrity and professionalism; ability to remain composed under pressure
  • Familiarity with media relations and public relations practices is an asset
  • Fluent in English, French and German (writing and editing skills, including the ability to write clearly and succinctly)

Responsibilities:

The successful applicant will support and implement the global communication strategy and plan:

  • Develop and write clear and compelling content for both internal and external communications, ensuring it aligns with brand messaging and tone.
  • Manage content calendars, ensuring timely delivery of materials and alignment with both internal and external communications.
  • Assists in crafting press releases, media statements and other external communications materials that highlight company news, products, and services.
  • Supports the creation and implementation of the company’s public relations content, including blog posts, website updates, and social media posts.
  • Supporting in the delivery of both virtual and in-person town halls and communications events (including the Quarterly Business Update)
  • Ensure that staff across all campuses are actively engaged and feel included in the company’s work, embedding organizational culture, shared brand values and help the company speak with a common voice
  • Support the tracking of communications metrics and help report on the effectiveness of both internal and external communication effort.
  • Ensure internal communications is considered and handled in a sensitive and timely fashion
  • Provide clear and effective communication in response to crisis or emergency situations
  • Working closely with internal clients to understand their internal communication needs, including providing advice on communications approach, developing and modifying plans and implementing tactics overseeing design and delivery in multiple languages while aligning it to our strategic prioritiesSupporting the continuous improvement and digital transformation of Husky’s communications channels, processes, and tools
