About the role
The Faculty of Media, Arts & Humanities is seeking a Communications & Content Officer to join its Communications Team. We’re looking for a highly organised team player with experience of scheduling, planning and delivering content in a fast-moving environment (both digital and print) and the knowledge, passion and flair for writing vibrant and engaging copy for different channels and audiences.
Whether from in-house, agency, or higher education, you will need strong client and customer service skills, working closely with academic departments and Professional Services. You’ll be adept at managing multiple projects and events simultaneously, structuring workflows, and meeting tight deadlines, while also being both proactive and reactive in responding to communications needs. You’ll collaborate across the Faculty and University to create, implement and evaluate communications plans, ensuring that both content and design adhere to brand and accessibility standards.
In alignment with the Faculty’s strategic goal of engaging students directly in content creation, the Communications and Content Officer will also lead the introduction of student-generated content, mentoring and providing students with developmental opportunities and ensuring content aligns with University and Faculty standards. Additionally, this role will support student recruitment by showcasing pathways, preparing materials, and participating in Open Days and Applicant Visit Days, driving awareness and engagement across all channels.
About you
You will be a highly organised, creative communicator ideally with at least 2 years’ experience. You will be a team player who is committed to improving our faculty communications across all channels and events. You will have a strong attention to detail and be capable of using a range of creative software packages.
You will be a confident writer and be able to create layouts for publications and posters, as well as create and deliver content to digital channels across web, social media and newsletters.
You will have the skills to manage your own workload and at times, support other colleagues.
