Position: Communications and Events Manager
Reports to : Chief Philanthropy Officer
Classification: Full Time, Exempt
Schedule : Monday – Friday, evenings and weekends as needed. Hybrid office/remote.
Salary Range: $7 8,000 - $90,000 yearly
POSITION SUMMARY
Are you a communications professional with a knack for storytelling and event management? We’re looking for a Communications and Events Manager to lead our marketing and communications efforts. In this role, you’ll drive brand awareness, support fundraising goals, and manage meaningful donor events to help advance our mission. - Marketing & Communications: Develop and implement a strategic communications plan to drive Habitat’s mission and brand across multiple channels. Serve as chief copywriter, creating content for case statements, newsletters, social media, and digital platforms. Oversee all print and digital collateral, managing relationships with vendors and agency partners to ensure consistent, high-quality brand representation.
- Philanthropy: Manage all stages of donor engagement, from initial contact to long-term relationship building, with a focus on stewardship and cultivation. Support the donor database and produce impactful direct mail campaigns. Collaborate on funding strategies and foster a culture of philanthropy within Habitat and with external partners.
- Event Production: Lead planning and execution for donor-focused events, including fundraising galas, home dedications, and wall-raising ceremonies. Handle all logistics, sponsorships, budgets, and post-event reporting to maximize engagement and support for Habitat’s mission.
- Habitat Engagement: Actively engage with Habitat’s mission, supporting other departments, occasionally visiting construction sites, and contributing to an integrated team culture. Attend relevant meetings and training, promoting positive internal culture and cross-departmental support.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proven experience in communications, marketing, and fund development with a strategic mindset.
- Strong writing skills for various media, adept at crafting engaging and persuasive content.
- Skilled in managing social media, digital marketing, and content creation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365, Google Suite, and donor CRM systems (experience with Bloomerang preferred).
- Knowledge of WordPress, Google Ad Grants, and Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.Valid driver’s license required for occasional local travel.
