MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum requirements include a diploma or certificate in technical editing, communications, or a related field.
  • At least two years of experience working in a university setting or other large organization would also be an asset.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • A university degree in communications, English, or a related discipline that emphasizes strong language skills would be an asset. A Master’s degree or higher would be preferred.

Responsibilities:

WORKING FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF CIVIL & ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING AND SCHOOL OF MINING & PETROLEUM ENGINEERING

The Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering and School of Mining & Petroleum Engineering are among the top departments in Canada. Groundbreaking research taking place at the Department level includes current issues like land reclamation of oil sands tailings ponds, biomechanical engineering, wastewater treatment and environmental engineering.

The Department and School:

  • house the largest river-ice research group in Canada
  • has the largest and oldest petroleum engineering program in the country
  • offer the only accredited petroleum engineering undergraduate degree
  • have students from more than 40 countries studying and conducting research

DUTIES

  • Provide writing, editing, and proofreading support for submission of scientific publications
  • Provide writing, editing, and proofreading support for funding proposals
  • Draft letters of support and other correspondence for CST faculty staff
  • Lead/assist with event planning (e.g., conference and symposium)
  • Lead/assist with development of communication/marketing materials
