SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience in developing, implementing and evaluating communications plans, protocols and programs.
  • Demonstrated experience in the production of written material including media releases, newsletters and website information.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining online content across a number of related websites and in use of other electronic communications mediums including social media.
  • Knowledge of and ability to manage applications received under confidential information and privacy legislation

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

Our client is currently seeking a Communications Consultant to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, developing, implementing and evaluating communication initiatives to support the activities and responsibilities of professional Councils applying various communication approaches and tools, including writing for various platforms, web development, social media, public relations, marketing and media management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Managing the provision of quality and timely services to a diverse range of external and internal stakeholders.
  • Balancing priorities to ensure that regular scheduled projects (such as annual reports) are completed in a timely way while continuing to maintain an appropriate level of other communication and media support service.
  • Provide a range of information services which include the writing of articles, publications, presentation materials, internal and external newsletters, website information and annual reports.
  • Plan, source, research, write, edit, proofread, prepare and co-ordinate the distribution of materials such as those described above.
  • Manage communication projects and programs within allocated timeframes and budgets.
  • Prepare correspondence and other materials as required, including responses to inquiries.
  • Maintain and continuously improve the company’s website to ensure content is relevant and dynamic, and provide assistance in review of new content and materials, training and coaching to staff in maintenance of individual pages.
  • Monitor media, publications and other sources (such as websites and social media) for pertinent items and distribute these to the relevant staff and members.
