One of a network of provincial community health centres, the NorWest Community Health Centres is a community based, non-profit organization funded by Ontario Health, emphasizing access to primary health care and prevention programs and services.
We are currently seeking a 1 FTE Communications Intern, who as a valuable member of the Community Health Centre team will who will work closely with the Communications Lead and the Chief Executive Officer to provide communications assistance to the Thunder Bay, Kakabeka, Armstrong and Longlac sites.
The position has a competitive salary and the Health Care of Ontario Pension Plan is an optional benefit.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Currently enrolled in or is a recent graduate of a Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or related program.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Competence in Canva, Adobe, Adobe Illustrator (an asset)
  • Competence in use of WordPress, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, Instagram
  • Creative mindset and ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Knowledge and proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel/MS Word)
  • Valid driver’s license, access to a vehicle and ability to travel to other service locations.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Are new entrants into the work force, are transitioning to a new career, or the unemployed or underemployed who are entering a new field;
  • Have not previously participated in a NOHFC-funded internship;
  • Are at least 18 years of age; and
  • Reside, and be legally entitled to work, in Canada
