Minimum criteria:
- Significant experience in working in a communications or PR role, with media relations and corporate reporting experience particularly desirable.
- Demonstrable experience of running successful external communications campaigns.
- Experience in achieving targets and results, focused on organising and bringing people and resources together to achieve objectives.
- Experience of directing and managing agency support.
- A keen eye for detail and excellent copy-editing skills.
- Ability to work effectively with many different external and internal stakeholders.
- Experience of preparing and managing budgets.
Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a communications manager, you will play an important role in delivering our corporate communications strategy, promoting the success of Motability Operations externally to different audiences and channels, while protecting our reputation at all times. You will develop, lead and manage projects with organisation-wide significance, working with external and internal partners including our executive leadership team, our agency partners, and the media, to deliver effective and consistent communications in support of our business goals.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the successful delivery of our key corporate reports and communications activity to support their publication. This includes working with colleagues and a project manager on our annual report, half year report and impact report.
- Develop and update corporate factsheets and narratives on priority areas and issues. Ensure that the key messages and proof points are cascades throughout other corporate documents and embedded in our communications activity.
- Work with colleagues to build strong industry awareness, maintain close knowledge of sector issues and horizon scan for future developments. Share this with relevant colleagues and build into the delivery of communications planning and activity.
- Develop and lead communications to maximise our sponsorship agreements,. Plan and implement comprehensive communications strategies to raise awareness of both MO and the Motability Scheme. Report results to the wider business and inform potential new sponsorship opportunities.
- Line manage communications executive, who manages the production and promotion of the Rough Guide to Accessible Britain, our relationships with our Motability Ambassadors and sponsorship partners.
- Act as a business partner and advisor to teams across the organisation, giving strategic advice on communications requirements.
- Work closely with the wider communications and engagement team, as well as the brand and marketing teams, to maximise opportunities to raise awareness and manage the reputation of both Motability Operations and the Motability Scheme.
- Work with the Motability Foundation communications team to ensure both organisations are informed and sighted on current and upcoming projects and issues as appropriate, and to maintain a positive public profile of the Motability Scheme.
- Manage relationships with creative agencies.
