Salary: £42,000 – £52,000 gross per annum (plus London Weighting £5,164 p.a), depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

JOB INTRODUCTION
World Service Business Development (BD) is responsible for securing, managing and developing the external media partnerships which deliver the majority of the BBC’s global audience reach.
The team’s priority is to increase reach while ensuring the BBC’s reputation is protected and revenue is generated where appropriate. To support our work, we are looking for a Communications Manager who will lead on delivering communications around programme and schedule information and any changes to all WSBD global partners. This includes owning all aspects of our B2B marketing and delivery website; BBC Partners | Home WS English, liaising with editorial teams on a daily basis and working with the technology teams to troubleshoot and resolve any issues with the delivery of content on the website. The role is also responsible for the production of a number of newsletters, and also oversees internal comms for the department.

Responsibilities:
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Day to day duties will include:
- Develop integrated communications strategies and campaigns, which includes B2B platforms and the use of appropriate media to reach as many relevant audiences as possible.
- Provide guidance and task management to team on developing and integrating communications plans in specific programme projects and activities, encouraging creativity across all mediums.
- Coordinate and manage the development and production of communications materials.
- Advise senior executives on communication strategies and provide assistance for speeches and presentations, event planning, and crisis management as needed.
- Responsible for editing websites and updating/managing social media or other digital platforms accounts.
- Initiate and project manage major communications activities in their business area. Examine and evaluate impact of work in their area, identifying and distributing best practice and lessons to learn.
- Establish and maintain a strong network of editorial contacts across all media.
- Explore and identify innovative ways of communicating effectively with B2B audiences and enable communication with end audience as needed.
- Point of contact for issues within area of responsibility.
- Ensure best practice and mandatory processes and standards are followed within area of responsibility.
- Responsible for day to day management of tasks, budgets and both internal and external relationships in their area or project.
- Represent the BBC with editorial contacts, opinion formers and stakeholders when required.
- Lead the running of social media or other digital channels within area of responsibility and assist with the production and/or distribution of assets to be used online, linear or printed media as required.
