Description:
The Catholic Charities Maine Development & Communications Department at Central Services in Portland has a Full-Time (40 hours per week) opening for a Communications Manager.
If you are a strong writer, media savvy, possess excellent project management skills and have a passion for supporting programs that serve Maine’s most vulnerable populations, then we want you on our communications team!
Definition: The Communications Manager is responsible for the project management and copywriting for a range of marketing and public relations projects and activities, including content for brochures, newsletters, fliers, donor and employee communications, and other written materials. This position is also responsible for social media posts, web content updates, as well as public relations writing/working with local media. Further, the position is responsible for writing scripts, videotaping in-house (or working with a videographer) and minor editing of a range of video projects. The Communications Manager will also manage freelancers and subcontractors as needed to accomplish the tasks assigned.
Qualifications: Eligible Candidates shall have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, Communications, or a related field or equivalent experience and/or training, including experience in videography/video editing. Must have a strong professional background in public/media relations, copywriting and general creative direction. Must have at least 5 years’ experience.
Salary: $55k- $62k annually. Starting salary contingent with qualifications and experience.
