Description:
Killam Apartment REIT (TSX:KMP.UN), is a growth-oriented real estate investment trust which owns, manages and develops multi-family residential properties in Atlantic Canada, Ontario, Alberta and British Columbia. We are currently searching for an experienced Communications Manager to join our team and support Killam’s corporate communications strategy. If you enjoy creating informative and interesting content, we want to hear from you!
What you will do:
- Establish and coordinate the day-to-day operations of Killam’s corporate communications strategy;
- Maintain an awareness of industry-specific issues and other trends that may influence internal and external communications;
- Monitor news, media, and social channels, identifying emerging issues and opportunities for Killam’s communications strategy;
- Coordinate all media requests and responses;
- Assist in coordinating, preparing, and reviewing communications material such as, but not limited to:
- Social media content
- Website content;
- Internal and external policies;
- Executive statements, speeches, presentations, and other content;
- Governance and policy documents;
- Financial reports (qualitative, written content and layout);
- Employee communications;
- ESG reporting documents and awareness campaigns.
- Participate in developing brand awareness and oversee the maintenance of brand integrity across all platforms;
- Assist in coordinating the design, digital, and social strategy to improve engagement;
- Prepare a budget for the communications team and ensure compliance.
What you have:
- Impeccable writing, reviewing, and copy-editing abilities;
- Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency with communications technologies;
- Understanding of graphic design, layout, and publishing;
- Experience with social media platforms and social media marketing;
- Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills;
- Proven project management and organizational skills;
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or a related discipline;
- Three to five years of communications, marketing, public relations or related experience;
- Experience in public speaking, media, and public relations;
- Experience with social media and digital content.
