Description:
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
To be successful the role holder will be:
- the holder of a professional qualification in communications or marketing
- able to demonstrate a proven ability to deliver communication campaigns nationally and globally
- organised in their approach to a busy schedule / working to targets
- able to analyse information and make sound decisions based on it
- able to work effectively on their own initiative
- numerate, literate and demonstrate great attention to detail
- able to adapt their excellent communication skills to a range of audiences
- able to interact effectively with colleagues and members in order to build strong working relationships and engender confidence and trust
- proficient in English and ideally at least one other language
- able to demonstrate good organisational skills and interdisciplinary thinking
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
To be successful the role holder will have:
- appropriate and relevant experience in communications ideally with a membership or not for profit organisation
- an understanding of the difference between national and international campaigns
- the ability and desire to achieve deadlines
- problem solving experience coupled with an ability to work at a tactical level
- the ability to build relationships with journalists in and beyond the industry
Responsibilities:
THE MAIN DUTIES OF THIS ROLE ARE TO:
- create news stories and press releases for IPAF and manage their translation and distribution.
- be the first contact for any press queries, build relationships with relevant media and maintain an up-to-date contact database.
- lead on the communications planning and delivery for IPAFs safety campaigns in coordination with the Safety and Technical team and monitor their success.
- write and distribute member and non-member communications such as the IPAF e-newsletter.
- develop the content and coordinate the production of IPAFs digital magazines, annual report, global safety report and rental market reports.
- provide communications support to IPAFs global reps as required
- manage IPAFs news monitoring service and evaluate trends and value
- represent IPAF at UK and international events, including conferences, seminars and exhibitions and publicise these before and after the event
- liaise with and provide support to other departmental colleagues in the creation and publishing of guidance documents and marketing material
- provide regular editorial copy for core trade magazines
- ensure all material is produced according to the corporate identity guidelines and brand values
- liaise with all relevant internal and external translation service providers as part of material production
- liaise with other members of the team, specifically the digital marketing team to ensure content is maximised across online and offline media
- be responsible for the quarterly internal communications newsletter and updates
- support IPAFs sustainability and EDI projects
