In Dublin Simon Community and Dundalk Simon Community we work to prevent and address homelessness in Dublin, Kildare, Wicklow, Louth, Cavan, Monaghan and Meath. We provide services at all stages of homelessness and enable people to move to a place they can call home.
We listen to people who turn to us for help and do everything we can to support them to move out of homelessness into Independant Housing . We strive to empower people to access, secure and retain a home of their own by reducing the reliance on short-term emergency accommodation and providing permanent Supported Housing for people to sustain a home in their local community. Moving people into supported housing produces life-enhancing and life-saving results and is more cost-effective in the long run.
We are focused on providing supportive services at all stages of homelessness and we are focused on providing supportive alternatives to people living in despair, enabling them to rebuild their lives and empower them to secure a safe home of their own

Responsibilities:

JOB PURPOSE

We are seeking a highly organised and versatile Communications & Marketing Manager who is passionate about corporate communications and takes a holistic approach to marketing, with a focus on leading and executing the organisation’s marketing strategies, strengthening our online presence, and ensuring a consistent and compelling brand message across all channels.
The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with the ability to drive marketing initiatives across both digital and traditional platforms, including social media, email marketing, website content, and brand awareness campaigns. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have PR experience, managing media requests, pitching stories, and maintaining relationships with journalists and editors.
This role requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a proven track record of delivering high-quality campaigns on time. As a strategic multitasker, the Communications & Marketing Manager will be responsible for managing multiple marketing projects while maintaining brand consistency and effectively engaging with diverse audiences in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
Key to this role will be the ability to manage and motivate a small team, ensuring smooth execution of cross-functional campaigns. You will need to be a strategic thinker who can handle multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and uphold the highest standards of quality. Strong project management skills are essential.
The Communications & Marketing Manager will report to the Senior Communications and Marketing Manager and work closely with the Director of Fundraising and Communications and the CEO.
Location: 5 Red Cow Lane, Smithfield, Dublin 7
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, 5-day liability, with occasional out of hours availability

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and execute an integrated annual communications, marketing, and digital strategy to boost brand awareness and foster trust in Dublin Simon Community. Position the organisation as a thought leader in homelessness and housing, driving key narratives that resonate with target audiences.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to create compelling marketing collateral and content, from email campaigns to social media posts and blog articles.
  • Lead and execute integrated marketing campaigns across digital channels, including social media, email, SEO/SEM, and paid digital advertising. Manage marketing budgets and track the performance of digital campaigns, adjusting strategies as needed to optimise results.
  • Develop and implement cohesive communications and marketing plans that deliver content tailored for maximum engagement across traditional media and digital platforms, ensuring broad and effective reach.
  • Support the creation and promotion of Dublin Simon Community’s award-winning fundraising appeals, ensuring alignment with broader marketing and communications efforts.
  • Work with the Senior Communications & Marketing Manager and members of the team to continuously enhance Dublin Simon’s digital presence, including website, social media, and other digital channels, ensuring performance KPIs are met and exceeded.
  • Evaluate and report on the effectiveness of media and digital activities, measuring their impact on brand perception, reach, and audience engagement. Use data-driven insights to refine strategies and optimize performance.
  • Act as a steward of the brand, safeguarding consistency in visual identity, tone of voice, and messaging across all channels, ensuring alignment with Dublin Simon Community’s values and mission.
  • Support the planning and execution of key organisational and fundraising events through comprehensive marketing, PR, and public engagement strategies that drive awareness and participation.
  • Monitor emerging trends and challenges in the housing, homelessness, and communications sectors, advising the organisation on how to adapt and stay ahead in a constantly evolving landscape.
  • Manage third-party relationships with agencies and suppliers, ensuring effective collaboration and maximizing the value of external partnerships.
  • Manage budgets for the team and maximise value in all activities.
  • Line management of a team of three marketing and communications executives.
