The Communications Officer role offers a real opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join our busy team to promote the activities of NHS South Yorkshire through a range of written, digital and face to face channels. We are looking for someone who is organised, competent in Microsoft Office packages, with excellent interpersonal skills, a friendly and professional outgoing manner and a mature, flexible and co-operative approach. You will need to be educated to degree level and have experience of communications, PR or marketing through working in or studying these areas. Developing and managing close links with the local and regional media and trade press contacts; Brief the senior manager team, chair and senior staff on events that may create negative publicity for the ICB Coordinating, writing and distributing communications materials including the e-bulletins to staff, stakeholders and public; Provide communications support for public consultations including preparation of materials for staff, public and stakeholders and attendance at consultation events when required; Identifying opportunities for proactive media work and maintaining a forward planner; Respond to queries from journalists, liaising with relevant senior staff to develop statements Developing and managing close links with staff at all levels; Developing and managing close links with partner organisations including the Trusts, Local Authorities, Healthwatch and the VCSE. Monitoring and responding to enquiries in the teams generic email inbox, including developing responses to media enquiries; Monitoring media activity and presenting media evaluation in a useful and clear manner. Work closely with the rest of communications and engagement team to ensure alignment with other projects and ICB messages; Writing press releases, web and intranet content, blogs, newsletter content and other written materials as required; Writing, scheduling and issuing communications for the ICBs social media channels and monitoring activity; Updating and maintaining information on the ICB website and staff intranet, including creating and uploading web banners, uploading documents and images; Providing advice/information to staff and the public when answering emails/the phone; Contributing to various staff engagement initiatives; Producing creative infographics, posters and graphics for use in various campaigns; Contributing to the development, planning and implementation of communications and marketing campaigns; Coordinating photography, filming and video editing; Coordinating and distributing online surveys; Producing event materials such as presentations and hand outs and providing support on the day of the event, including filming, taking photos and posting on social media; Liaising with photographers, designers and printers to obtain quotes and brief about projects; Using a range of IT applications maintaining and managing communications team databases/distribution list
