Description:

Nokia is searching for a Communications Specialist to support in protecting and enhancing the company brand and deepening relationships with important stakeholders in Finland. Reporting to the Global Head of External Communications, the post holder will be a member of Nokia’s energetic and dynamic global external communications team.
As the Communications Specialist at Nokia, you will be working in a fast-paced and global environment. You will work in close collaboration with various stakeholders, contributing to external communications activities. You should have a good understanding of the Finnish media landscape and an ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
Your main responsibility will be to coordinate, develop and publish Nokia’s regulatory content. You will also be expected to coordinate specific corporate communications projects, key campaigns, messaging, communications channels and tactics, with the support of your teammates. You will be working with supportive colleagues who will help you to succeed in your role.

As a Communications Specialist at Nokia, you will have broad visibility of hot industry topics and be at the forefront of exciting new technology trends and, work with a broad range of external and internal stakeholders. The most important responsibilities for this role include:

  • Supporting media relations outreach for key corporate streams and activities e.g., leadership, executive, business and corporate announcements in line with company messaging.
  • Working closely with Brand, Finance, Legal and others on external corporate-wide cross-functional initiatives.
  • Working with in-house and agency teams to execute strategic media relations.
  • Creating targeted content for the Finnish market, including press releases, bylines and opinion pieces.
  • Contributing to local projects which require external communications support.
  • Overseeing regulatory processes for the distribution of Stock Exchange Releases and press releases.
  • Supporting Nokia’s Annual Report design and project management
  • Supporting Nokia’s Annual General Meeting and Quarterly Earnings processes.
  • Supporting the Finnish Corporate Communications Manager, and the wider team, on diverse corporate communications projects.
  • Coordinating content for Nokia’s Finnish language social media activity.

We are seeking a proactive team player with good practical experience in communications. The ideal candidate is naturally curious and results-driven, with a passion for storytelling and narrative-building and will be confident in bringing their own ideas to the table.

  • A university degree in a relevant field (e.g. Communications, Media, Journalism or Social Sciences).
  • Background in PR and media relations (around 3 years in the industry), with experience in maintaining and developing relationships with key media contacts.
  • Basic understanding of the regulatory communications requirements of a listed company.
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills in Finnish, with strong English language skills.
  • Ideally proficient in Swedish.
