WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR!

We’re seeking an organized and detail-oriented Communications Specialist as we continue to grow our in-house marketing team. This position will play a critical role in driving OneUnited’s marketing and communication strategies and the ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a passion for copywriting and a strong understanding of the financial industry. This position reports directly to the VP of Marketing and Social Media and will be responsible for shaping and conveying our brand’s voice across various digital channels. The incumbent will own crafting compelling copy for social media and digital advertising, the development and management of our blog, and supporting various teams within the organization with the development of compelling copy for marketing assets. The ideal candidate will have a passion for storytelling, a keen eye for detail, and a strategic mindset to drive engagement and brand awareness.

REQUIREMENTS:

The ideal candidate will possess the following experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism, or related field
  • Outstanding copywriting and editing skills, and the ability to communicate complex ideas and information clearly.
  • 2 years of experience writing social media and/or digital advertising copy
  • 2 years of experience using social media management platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X, YouTube, LinkedIn, Sprout, Meta Business Manager)
  • Demonstrable experience creation/editing social media reels and stories (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube Shorts, etc.,)
  • Ability to write in OneUnited’s brand voice and/or that of key executives
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively at a high level
  • Proficient with Google Workspaces and/or other professional productivity tools (i.e. Slack, Salesforce)
  • Proficient with Salesforce Marketing Cloud (preferred)

Salary Range: $1,961.53 - $2,115.38/Biweekly, which annualizes to $51,000 - 55,00

Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure communication strategies align with overall business objectives
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop content and messaging for product launches, customer success stories, events, and other initiatives
  • Maintain a consistent brand voice across all content published on the Bank’s customer-facing digital media channels
  • Plan, design, develop, execute, and elevate customer journeys including, but not limited to, SMS Messaging, Mobile App Push Notification, and Email Lead Generation and Conversions to support the Bank’s customer growth goals
  • Assist with the development, and scheduling, of content for social media, and copy for websites, newsletters, ad campaigns, emails, and any other distribution channels
  • Assist with the creation of presentations, reports, and information for OneUnited’s sales teams
  • Assist with the development of strategies for current and existing products, launches, and promotions
  • Assist with the planning and creation of digital content, as well as the production of marketing materials
  • Work closely with our external PR team to amplify media and press opportunities across our digital channels
  • Manage the organization’s blog; Development and dissemination
  • Assist with the development of internal communication development needs, ensuring clear and consistent messaging that align with the company’s goals and objectives.
  • Manage crisis communications, including developing response plans and providing timely and accurate information to stakeholders.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and developments to ensure our messaging is relevant and impactful.
