Position/Title: Communications Specialist
Department: International Logistics
Reports to: Lead Communications Coordinator
Salary: $90,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
OVERVIEW:
Salus Worldwide Solutions Corporation is seeking a Communications Specialist to staff a 24x7 operations center for a mission-critical and highly visible U.S. Government project. The selected candidate will manage the receipt, verification, organization, and dissemination of passenger logistical information. The Communications Specialist involves daily interaction with forward deployed teams, management, security personnel, and government personnel with other federal agencies. Applicants must be meticulous, positive, flexible, and a driven self- starter able to thrive in this fast-paced environment. Exceptional technical, communication and interpersonal skills are a necessity, including the ability to effectively communicate via written and verbal media. This position functions as part of a team with a sense of ownership and dedication to the mission. The incumbent shall regularly communicate and update all data systems and International Logistics Project Managers with the most recent information from the forward deployed teams, passenger status, as well as the logistical requirements to meet the daily flight schedule.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Self-directed, detail oriented in completing assigned tasks, able to adapt to changing work efforts and manage the impact of shifting priorities.
· Excellent written and oral communications skills, including the ability to summarize and distill large amounts of technical data and information into concise messaging for a particular audience
· A minimum of 3 years of experience and a bachelor’s degree
· Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the pay band NH-03 (GS-13 equivalent) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: applying a wide range of integrated communications principles to support the acquisition and/or Life Cycle Sustainment Management of integrated passenger export support functions.
· Ability to work collaboratively and diplomatically with a geographically and culturally diverse group of stakeholders
· Significant experience with lifecycle logistics management at DHS, DoD, or other civilian agencies.
· Demonstrated experience with flight operations, border enforcement, or other federal civilian acquisition/capital investment program.
· Ability to think strategically, the ability to communicate foreseeable logistical issues, and expertly update all parties with seamless communication in a timely manner.
· Must exude an initiative-based mentality and the ability to receive constructive feedback.
· Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), SharePoint, MS Teams, and Salesforce required.

Responsibilities:
· This role involves managing various communications initiatives for both the VA Headquarters and the field-based staff, ensuring effective engagement and knowledge sharing across the organization.
· Analyze the effectiveness of existing communication channels and activities, present suggested improvements to leadership and facilitate retiring the outdated channels as necessary.
· Provide regular correspondence, fulfil and honor all task orders, instructions, and directives necessary to ensure effective communication, delivery, and implementation of all assigned communication duties.
· Maintain liaison with all activities, organizations and commands directly involved with the introduction, maintenance, and support of successful logistics communications.
· Ensure all program requirements are properly reported, communicated and updated in relevant systems, tasks, and other departments (i.e., medical, ground/air operations) throughout the mission life cycle.
· Coordinate with regional vendors to ensure all parties are updated on recent and upcoming communications, initiatives and data activities in order to meet service level expectations.
Provide all passenger and customs related communication necessary for the continued success of the regional teams’ passenger relocation services.
· Inform leadership and own the communication of changes, shipment issues, and mission-related concerns to respective personnel and as requested by the Lead Communications Coordinator.
· Develop message maps and scripts as needed to ensure the appropriate tone, content, and delivery of information that reflects the culture of the client and/or intended audience to achieve strategic goals and objectives.
· Develop a communication strategy that allows for continual process improvement and a focus on impact measurement across the diverse workforce, with specific focus of the target population segments.
· Work closely with the regional partners, communication partners, and department leaders (i.e., mission centers, enterprise functions) to develop a comprehensive approach to communications that ensure strong integration across platforms and initiatives to ensure strong reach and engagement.
· Responsibilities include obtaining the appropriate information for service requests and providing any additional assistance necessary to meet the needed requirements.
· The Communications Specialist shares responsibility for working cooperatively with all team members.
· Demonstrates the ability to establish a rapport with vendors, clients, shareholders, and other departments; including the ability to create and sustain a positive relationship; regardless of circumstances or environment.
· Ability to understand and explain the services offered by the office and the unique qualifications of the staff that support in this area.
· Demonstrated superior communications.
