Responsibilities:

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

To help raise awareness of the charity through various online platforms including social media, our website, our quarterly magazine, writing press releases for local newspapers and magazines, writing supporter newsletters, creating posters and flyers.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assisting with new and regular campaigns such as Innocent’s Big Knit, Silver Sunday, World Alzheimer’s Month and our annual Christmas Campaign
  • Help collect meaningful content for our marketing materials, such as client stories, photos and videos for all communication platforms
  • Support with writing engaging news stories and press releases
  • Assist with content collection at fundraising/awareness events (generally all in Plymouth)
  • Researching national campaigns to ensure relevant messages are communicated with our audiences
  • Provide support on event days across Plymouth
  • Distribute fundraising materials and spread the word about our services and campaigns
  • Offer support with our social channels
  • Assist with editing and updating our website content to keep it fresh and relevant
  • Work collaboratively with others throughout the charity
  • Adhere to the relevant policies and procedures such as confidentiality, health and safety and equal opportunities
  • Undertake any training considered appropriate to the role
  • Undertake other duties appropriate to the role when required
