SUMMARY OF FUNCTION:
Preserving and maintaining the public peace through enforcement of Municipal Bylaws
Investigating Municipal Bylaw complaints and offences, and submitting reports, files, letters, and
legal documents
Performing lower risk enforcement duties including citations
Attending court and providing testimony in trial matters
Interacting frequently with the Public, often in difficult circumstances
Providing public educational opportunities to the community
Liaising and working effectively with law enforcement agencies, including the RCMP
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
A minimum age of 18 years
One Year Post Secondary in Criminal Justice or related Law Enforcement studies preferred
Successfully clear a thorough RCMP Security
Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with proof of acceptable Driver’s Abstract
Demonstrated proficiency in writing, verbal and communication skills
Able to work both independently and cooperatively
Excellent interpersonal communication skills in dealing with staff, peers and the public
Candidates best suited will have a high level of organizational skills and the ability to prioritize their work.
Flexibility to work days, evenings and weekend schedules in a variety of conditions is required.
