Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 RN (child) who have had previous experience with children with complex health needs based within the Community Children’s nursing team. As a Band 5 Nurse you will be working across all of our Community Children’s nursing areas including Community Children’s nurses and Special schools. This role involves supporting children and young people with a variety of health conditions across different settings.
As a member of the team a flexible approach to working will be required, excellent communication skills are necessary and evidence of previous multi agency / disciplinary working are essential to the role.
This role is part of the Community Children’s Nursing team across Shropshire and Telford.
Operational hours are variable between Monday- Friday 08.00-18.00 there may be the need for the post holder to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service, including seeing the children in their own homes, in Special schools or other community settings. The role will also include supporting End of life care and part of an On call roster as this is needed. The post holder will need to be able to meet the travel requirements of the role.

To provide specialist children’s nursing care, advice and support in negotiation with the child and family to meet their individual needs.
To assess, plan, implement and evaluate care in conjunction with senior nurses.
To have responsibility for a delegated workload as agreed with the senior nurses.
Act as a supervisor for junior staff and students.
To communicate with relevant professionals as required.
To work across the range of teams within the Community Children’s Nursing team including Special school Nursing, Children’s continence service and Children’s Phlebotomy service.
