The Community Resources Programs (currently CRC, Family Programs, Food Programs, Immigrant Services, and Literacy Programs) provide specialized centres for the community to access support and achieve Lift’s vision.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Diploma with training in Education
- Minimum 3 years’ experience working with ESL students or ESL newcomers
- ESL Teaching or tutoring experience
- Familiarity with/knowledge of community services and resources for individuals and families
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Cultural sensitivity and non-judgemental attitude
- Written and verbal command of English
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to plan and organize activities for adults
- Computer literacy including Microsoft Word, spreadsheets, & Zoom
- Requires Vulnerable Sector Check and Criminal Record Check clearance.
Responsibilities:
- Coordination, planning, networking, facilitation for group sessions and toward group goals
- Teaches language, communication skills, and approaches to equity, diversity & inclusion awareness and networking
- Introduces local community resources, services & programs
- Lesson material review & development in collaboration with the co-lead
- Develops relationships with community service providers, creating opportunities for clients
- Facilitates toward a client-led group
- Provides support for other education programs, events, group activities, outings, & community connection activities as needed
- Participates in staff support for Cooking Club/Family Group
- Contributes to the maintenance of a welcoming, professional, safe, & sanitary environment
- Provides individual & group orientations & support for:
- Job search skills, including resume & cover letter development, interview roleplays, and finding opportunities
- Exploration of career path options
- Education & support for employment issues
- Employment-related orientations
- Post-secondary and adult basic education options
- Credential evaluation
- Certification requirements for regulated professions
- Newcomer employment support programs such as Career Paths and IEC-BC
